Job Description: The City School is seeking an experienced Urdu & Islamiyat Prep Teacher to join our Karachi campus teaching Grade 6-8 students. As part of one of Pakistan’s largest private school networks, you will deliver engaging lessons that build language proficiency, cultural literacy, and foundational Islamic studies. You will work with a collaborative team to implement the school's curriculum, assess student progress, and contribute to a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
Key responsibilities:- Plan and deliver age-appropriate Urdu language lessons (reading, writing, grammar, comprehension) for Grades 68 aligned to school curriculum and learning objectives.
- Prepare and teach Islamiyat (preparatory level) lessons emphasizing Quranic literacy, basic fiqh, seerah and moral values suitable for middle-school students.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies including storytelling, group work, interactive writing, and formative assessments to engage learners of diverse ability levels.
- Create lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments; maintain records of student performance and progress.
- Differentiate instruction and provide remedial support or enrichment as needed; communicate learning targets and provide timely feedback.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement, establish clear expectations, and ensure a respectful learning environment.
- Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, participate in faculty meetings, and support school initiatives such as literacy drives and student assemblies.
- Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress and participate in scheduled parent-teacher conferences; support co-curricular activities as required.

Job Specification: • Strong command of Urdu language: grammar, composition, reading comprehension, and literature analysis appropriate for Grades 68.
• Solid understanding of Islamiyat fundamentals at the preparatory level: Quranic verses, basic fiqh, seerah, akhlaq and moral instruction.
• Lesson planning and curriculum mapping skills with ability to align objectives to assessments.
• Classroom management and student engagement techniques for middle-school learners.
• Ability to design formative and summative assessments and analyze results to guide instruction.
• Differentiation strategies to support mixed-ability classrooms and remedial interventions.
• Clear verbal and written communication for parent interactions and reporting.
