Job Description: Hayat Ali & Co is a leading construction firm based in Islamabad with over 50 years of experience delivering government and public-sector projects across Pakistan, including NHA roadworks, solar power installations, water treatment facilities, stadiums, and water supply and sewerage systems. We seek a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our project teams to ensure accurate cost control, contract compliance and timely financial reporting on medium- to large-scale infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare detailed bill of quantities (BOQs), take-offs and material estimates from drawings and specifications.
- Measure quantities on-site and from design documents to support tendering and variation assessments.
- Prepare cost estimates, budget reconciliations and cash flow projections for project milestones.
- Assess and evaluate contractor claims, variations, change orders and extensions of time; produce substantiated recommendations.
- Administer contracts and ensure compliance with terms, conditions and procurement procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers and procurement to monitor costs, reduce waste and optimize value engineering opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of subcontractor agreements, payments, interim valuations and final accounts.
- Support monthly financial reporting, forecasts and audit documentation for internal and client review.
- Ensure measurement and costing methodologies follow applicable standards and company policies.

Job Specification:
- Proven experience preparing BOQs, take-offs and detailed cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects (roads, water, power).
- Strong knowledge of standard measurement methods (e.g., SMM or locally accepted measurement standards) and contract administration.
- Competence with quantity surveying software and MS Office, especially Excel for cost analysis and cash flow modelling.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and schedules of work.
- Experience assessing variations, valuing claims and preparing interim/final accounts.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, subcontract management and payment certification procedures.
- Attention to detail, analytical skills and ability to produce clear, auditable records and reports.
- Good communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, engineers and project teams.
