Role Overview:Experienced fitter to maintain and service plastic injection molding machines in a production environment. Support continuous manufacturing operations to ensure reliable, safe equipment performance and minimize downtime. Work within a cross-functional team of production operators, engineers, and quality staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and repair hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems of injection molding machines, including molds, ejectors, heaters, screws and barrels.
- Troubleshoot electrical and control-related faults; identify root causes and implement corrective actions with minimal production interruption.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks and inspections per schedules; accurately log activities.
- Support mold changeovers and assist operators during setup to ensure correct alignment, clamping and safety interlocks.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on continuous improvement, machine upgrades and spare parts management.
- Maintain safety, lockout/tagout procedures and housekeeping standards.
Job Specification:
Must-have:- Matriculation or Technical Diploma in Mechanical/Industrial/Mechatronics or equivalent vocational training.
- 3+ years hands-on experience maintaining injection molding or similar plastic processing equipment.
- Solid mechanical fitting skills: dismantling, machining, aligning and reassembling molds and machine components.
- Practical experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, valves, pumps and seals.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, alignment tolerances and basic schematics.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting for motors, heaters and control circuits; familiarity with PLC faults is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with injection molding machines (temperature setting, screw maintenance, mold handling).
- Experience with preventive maintenance, condition-based checks and basic measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, vernier).
- Strong safety awareness: lockout/tagout, PPE and safe material handling.
Preferred:- Experience working in continuous manufacturing/production environment.
- Previous collaboration with engineering and quality teams on improvements.
