Job Description: GetChainVerse is an international trade and development partnership headquartered in Bogotá, with project activity and a growing presence supporting clients and partners in Pakistan. We are hiring a Blockchain Developer to join a small, multidisciplinary project team based in Islamabad to design and implement blockchain-based solutions that improve cross-border trade processes, provenance tracking and regulatory compliance workflows. The role reports to the technical lead and works closely with policy analysts, supply-chain specialists and external stakeholders to translate business requirements into secure, maintainable distributed-ledger applications.
Key responsibilities:- Design, develop and deploy smart contracts and backend services for permissioned and permissionless blockchain networks.
- Implement integration layers between blockchain platforms and existing trade systems, APIs and databases.
- Write clean, well-documented code and unit/integration tests; conduct code reviews and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to gather requirements, propose architecture and estimate delivery timelines.
- Ensure security best practices for keys, transactions and data privacy; participate in threat modelling and audits.
- Monitor and maintain deployed networks and applications, troubleshoot production incidents and implement performance improvements.
- Produce technical documentation, deployment guides and onboarding materials for partners and stakeholders.
This position is based in Islamabad; travel to partner sites or regional meetings in Pakistan may be occasional. The role is project-focused and suited to engineers who enjoy working at the intersection of technology, trade policy and operations.
Job Specification:
- Proven experience developing smart contracts (Solidity, Rust or equivalent) and deploying to Ethereum-compatible or other blockchain platforms.
- Strong backend development skills in Node.js, Go, Python or Java, and experience building REST/GraphQL APIs.
- Familiarity with permissioned ledger frameworks (Hyperledger Fabric, Corda) and consensus mechanisms.
- Experience with cryptography fundamentals, key management, transaction signing and on-chain/off-chain data patterns.
- Practical knowledge of Web3 tooling: Truffle/Hardhat, Ethers.js/Web3.js, chain explorers and testing frameworks.
- Experience integrating blockchains with databases (Postgres, MongoDB) and message queues; competence with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment.
- Automated testing, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible) experience preferred.
- Strong debugging, performance tuning and secure coding practices; ability to produce clear technical documentation.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with policy and supply-chain teams and external partners.
